Recommended Databases and CRMs
Don't have a database or CRM? Getting a new program or not happy with your current system? Start here... 1. Set Expectations for the Program: What are you trying to address and what do you NEED it to do - paperless, compliant, PDA synch, calendar, categorizing, marketing programs? 2. Get Staff Buy-In: If you are the advisor, do NOT buy any program simply based on a recommendation or demo. Your staff needs to agree that the proposed program is the right one - let's face it - they'll be using it a lot more than you. 3. Invest In It: Suprisingly, most office's existing programs are capable of doing what they want a new program to do except no ones had adequate training on it. Before you switch programs, make sure you really need to make the switch. If you do buy a new program, SCHEDULE training times in advance for everyone in the office and investigate how the program provides support (is it just via email or can you call and get a live person?).
